Right at the intersection in Gatlinburg where Parkway splits off toward East Parkway sits one of Gatlinburg’s hidden gems for dining and drink – the Gatlinburg Brewing Company. This odd little round-shaped building is a great place to grab a beer or chow down on some pizza.
Gatlinburg Brewing Company’s slogan (at least on its menu) is “Evolutionary Craft Beer, Cutting-Edge Craft Pizza.” I would say that is about right. Your reviewer sampled two beers, the Gatty Light and Ace Pineapple Cider. Both were quite good.
The Gatty Light was a nice, easy-to-drink beer that would appeal to those who prefer a lighter, domestic style brew. The Ace Pineapple Cider reminded me very much of an apple cider such as Woodchuck. Any cider lover would like it.
This is one of those places that only does a few things, but does them VERY WELL! The menu is limited to a few appetizers, salads and pizza. I ordered theĀ Supreme – a classic setup that includes pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, onions, mushrooms and black olives. All pizzas are made on a hand-tossed 10″ crust. You can also create your own custom pizza from a wide array of toppings, and you can watch the kitchen staff make it from scratch. Our pizza was excellent! You can look at the photo above and see that quite clearly.
The staff was very friendly and conversational. The whole place has a cool, laid back vibe to it. GREAT place to hang out. The night I was there, there was even live music!
The location is also interesting. The restaurant sits elevated above the streets, providing a fantastic circular view of the intersection. The Gatlinburg Brewing Company gets our highest recommendation!
