We recently toured the Hollywood Star Cars Museum in Gatlinburg. It features an amazing array of cars and motorcycles. Displayed here is just a small sample of what you will see there.
You will love this museum if you are either:
- A car person; or
- A fan of pop culture.
And really…don’t most of us fall into one of those groups?
Some of the vehicles you will find here are straight-up dream cars, such as Mike Tyson’s Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster (that will go over 200 miles per hour!), shown above…
…and some are iconic automobiles such as the original Batmobile (above) and the General Lee, the 1969 Dodge Charger from the Dukes of Hazard (below). A number of the vehicles were designed by famous Hollywood car customizer George Barris.
Not everything you will see here is a souped-up hot rod. Some are just going to put a smile on your face.
Shown above is Bob Hope’s Buick Skylark. Below is the police wagon driven by Sherriff Andy Taylor on the Andy Griffith Show (which features Don Knotts’ signature on the dash).
In addition to some of the most famous TV cars, there are vehicles you will recognize from the movies, such as the Ghostbusters station wagon below…
…the 1977 Pontiac Trans Am driven by Burt Reynolds in the 70’s classic Smokey and the Bandit (top of page), and the custom Pan Head chopper ridden by Nicholas Cage in the movie Ghost Rider.
The Hollywood Star Cars museum is an easy walk from the Historic Gatlinburg Inn, and we definitely recommend you check it out on your Gatlinburg visit.
