There is a new way to get around the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge areas that really looks like a lot of fun. Decker Double Bus Tours is a business that operates a European-style double decker bus that runs a route from Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg and back, with many stops in between. The thing that separates this ride from the local trolley rides is that it makes a much wider loop, eliminating the need to get on and off different trolleys, and it is operated by an actual tour guide who will tell you about the area and its’ attractions during the trip.
One other thing that is unique about the experience is that the buses are driven on the right side, just like in Europe. This bus ride will definitely add a different flavor to your trip.
It can be frustrating driving through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg at certain times. The streets can get congested and traffic can move very slowly at times. Riding the double decker bus will help eliminate that stress, allowing you to enjoy the surroundings and learn about local attractions as you go.
If you are coming into Gatlinburg, this would be a great way to get around town, or to move between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge (or just for fun!).
Single tickets start at $5, or you can purchase a 24 hour pass to get on and off wherever you want starting at $14.99 (prices vary by age group).
If you’re staying with us at the Historic Gatlinburg Inn, you don’t need a vehicle to get around town because we are right in the center of things. But the double decker bus would be a great way to take a ride to Pigeon Forge, or just to hear a tour guide tell you about local attractions.
