Gatlinburg, Tennessee, has long been one of the great centers of Appalachian culture with their legacy of arts and crafts here in the Smoky Mountains. Not only do we have one of the biggest arts and crafts communities in the country, but we celebrate that heritage and its continued economy with events such as the Gatlinburg Craftsmens Fair.
We hold a lot of special events throughout the year that features our local arts and their wares, but this event is the big one – so big that we have it multiple times each year! With the fall atmosphere and the colors blooming throughout the surrounding mountains as the Fair is conducted, you get a very potent experience at the very spirit of Appalachia itself.
The Gatlinburg Craftsmens Fair is touted (and voted) as one of the Southeast’s “Most Popular Events”, according to the Craftmens Fair website (hyperlink to http://www.craftsmenfair.com/) and it’s not hard to see why. The Fair takes place at the enormous W.L. Auditorium/Conference Center in downtown Gatlinburg and the event is set up like a huge trade show. Many of our Craftsmen Fairs feature over 150 artists and vendors inside and outside of the building as well as music entertainment and concessions.
