Mountain Edge Grill has been a Gatlinburg staple since 1998. It is a family-owned restaurant that specializes in “burgers and brews.” That’s our kind of place!
This is a downhome, all-American type of place. It has the feel of the kind of place where the locals would gather for a meal. The décor is unassuming. The seating is standard. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and decorated with sports-themed items, signs and knickknacks. The staff was friendly and made us feel right at home.
The menu features various appetizers, sandwiches, salads, pizza and burgers. One thing that sets Mountain Edge Grill apart is its use of all natural, 100% bison and elk meat, in addition to beef. Each burger can be ordered with beef or bison, except the Bison Elk burger that contains a mix of bison and elk.
We ordered the beef chili cheese burger with fries. It had American cheese smothered in great-tasting chili, piled onto a grilled bun. One thing about chili cheese burgers – they’re hard to eat with your hands. So this is more of a fork and knife kind of meal. The burger was sloppy and messy and was delicious. The fries were well-seasoned with a nice crunch. Nothing fancy – just good American food.
The restaurant also has a bar side, “Taproom,” with many beers and ciders on tap, and a full bar.
Mountain Edge Grill is located in the Baskin Square shopping area, at 631 Parkway, Suite B4, in Gatlinburg. It is easy to get to, right off of the main strip (it does require scaling some steps).
If you’re looking for a friendly, low key spot to sit and have a good meal and maybe a drink, this is a great choice. Recommended whether you are alone, with friends, or with your entire family. And it’s also an easy walk from the Historic Gatlinburg Inn.
