Owned by the famous country music star, Jason Aldean, this restaurant is the epitome of Southern charm and hospitality, serving up country music and fine country food.
A Setting Worth a Song
From the moment you step into this three-tiered eatery, you’re greeted by a lively, rowdy atmosphere that resonates with the very essence of country music. The decor is unapologetically Southern, featuring a bona fide tractor right at the bar in the dining area—yes, a real tractor! You’ll find walls adorned with rustic memorabilia, alongside giant flat screens blaring country music videos and sports. Each level offers a unique ambiance: a gift shop stocked with Aldean’s merchandise on the lower level, a dining area that embodies a music festival’s VIP section on the middle floor, and a rooftop that grants stunning views of downtown Gatlinburg, complete with a stage for live performances and a smaller room designated for karaoke.
The Food: A Simple Menu and an Ode to American Classics
Jason Aldean’s Kitchen and Rooftop Bar specializes in American comfort food, and trust me, you can taste the comfort in every bite. You can start off with a classic like chicken wings or nachos. The main menu ranges from classic cheeseburgers to the late night goodness of chicken and waffles. You’ll also find pot roast, pulled pork and steak, and Jason’s special mac and cheese. We went with the Beer Can Chicken.
Served as a generous portion of half a bird, brined and perfectly roasted, the Beer Can Chicken is a masterclass in poultry preparation. The chicken was moist, bursting with flavor and seasoned to perfection. VERY flavorful. Accompanying the chicken are creamy Yukon gold potatoes that melt in your mouth and crisp green beans that offer a slightly bitter contrast, balancing the richness of the rest of the plate. Suffice to say, the dish was flawless.
The Atmosphere
This place just reeks coolness. You’ll find a big stage, big screens and big guitars hanging from the ceiling. You’ll see memorabilia from Aldean’s career displayed on the walls. The place just looks like country music. It glows red and shines with neon. You can get an incredible view of downtown Gatlinburg. There is also a remarkably unique souvenir shop if you’d like a remembrance of your visit.
Entertainment Overload
While the food and drink alone warrant a visit, the live music and karaoke elevate the experience to an unforgettable night out. The rooftop-level stage is located inside. Noone was performing during our visit, which was during lunch hours, but based on what the author has experienced at the Nashville location, it will no doubt provide an awesome experience. And if you’re feeling brave, the karaoke room awaits; don’t be surprised if you find yourself dueting with strangers to classic country ballads by the end of the night.
