Chicken Guy – Gatlinburg Restaurant Review

Nov 22, 2021 | Food, Places to Eat In Gatlinburg, Restaurants, Reviews

We recently sat down at Gatlinburg’s newest eatery, Chicken Guy! Is it worth the hype? Is the chicken REALLY that good? Read on!

Chicken Guy

Chicken Guy is a chain of restaurants founded by famous chef and TV personality, Guy Fieri, and restauranteur, Robert Earl. It specializes in chicken sandwiches and tenders, served with any of a large variety of sauces.

The interior of the restaurant is bright and happy. There is a huge, smiling chicken looking down on you wherever you sit, and the building is split into a dining area and an arcade, divided by a wall of glass windows.

If you’ve never eaten here before, you will likely need a few minutes to study the menu. It’s a little bit confusing, partly because of the large number of options. There are many references to “LTOP,” which if you don’t know (we did not), stands for “lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle.” In other words, the standard toppings that come on most sandwiches.

To keep things simple, we went with the “CG Classic,” which features the standard LTOP toppings, cheddar cheese, and the house “special sauce.” With so many sauces to choose from, we decided going with Guy’s recommendation would be a good way to render a fair assessment. It came served with fries.

It was a very good chicken sandwich. The sandwich consists of two crispy friend chicken tenders. The chicken was crispy and the sandwich was loaded up with toppings. Your reviewer is a spicy food fan, and next time we will be selecting one of the more spicy sauces. The fries were excellent, crispy and tasty.

The signature sauce was good, but it does not have much kick. But that is one thing we love about this place – the variety of sauces. You could eat here every day for a month and never eat the same sandwich twice.

The menu also has items such as street corn, mac ‘n cheese, and milkshakes.

After you’ve finished your meal, you might just be in the mood for some video games! Chicken Guy has you covered, with its own arcade. The arcade is the pretty standard arrangement (at least for Gatlinburg), although it has the advantage of being brand new.

Chicken Guy

If you’re running around Gatlinburg and looking for a place to grab a good and quick bite to eat, or just somewhere to hang out and play a few games, then Chicken Guy is definitely a great option. Recommended.
