Morning Mist Cafe: A Hidden Gem in Gatlinburg’s Arts & Crafts Community

Jun 19, 2024 | Food, Restaurants, Reviews

Nestled in the charming Morning Mist Village, a quaint little mall in the heart of Gatlinburg’s Arts & Crafts community, Morning Mist Cafe is a delightful spot that deserves more recognition. With a cozy, welcoming atmosphere and a staff that greets you like an old friend, this cafe offers a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of the main strip. And on top of that…the food is amazing!

Morning Mist Cafe

The cafe boasts both indoor and outdoor seating, allowing you to enjoy your meal in a setting that suits your mood. On our visit, we sat inside to get out of the heat. There were a number of visitors enjoying the outside seating as well, soaking in the peaceful ambiance of the village, surrounded by shops showcasing the talents of local artisans.

For our meal, we ordered the Mexico Burger, and it did not disappoint. This culinary masterpiece features a half-pound Angus patty served on a brioche bun, topped with a special house-made burger sauce, sautéed onions and jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, and crispy bacon. The flavors melded perfectly, each bite offering a tantalizing mix of savory and spicy notes. Paired with thick, beer-battered onion rings that were cooked to perfection, our meal was nothing short of fantastic. This was a fantastic burger!

The menu at Morning Mist Cafe offers a variety of appetizing options to suit every palate. Start your meal with delicious appetizers like loaded fries or crispy potato skins. If you’re in the mood for a sandwich, you have plenty to choose from, including the classic club sandwich, a juicy chicken sandwich, a hearty Philly cheesesteak, and the unique “Morning Mist Sandwich,” which features grilled chicken topped with gouda cheese, grilled Granny Smith apples, and peach jalapeño jam. This little joint has obviously put some serious thought into its menu.

Salad lovers will also find something to enjoy, with fresh and healthy options available. Additionally, Morning Mist Cafe serves breakfast until 11 am, offering items such as breakfast quesadillas, fluffy omelettes, and golden pancakes, making it a perfect spot for an early morning bite.
